Kisimul Castle is a Listed Building. Here's what the official description says about it:

Restored tower house on small islet with curtain wall skirting shoreline. Essentially early-mid 15th century. Additions and
alterations late 15th-17th century including raising of tower
house parapet and of curtain, courtyard buildings at south
west built, first record courtyard buildings at north and east
curtain altered/raised. Abandoned probably mid 18th century,
restored 1938-70 by R.L. MacNeil of Barra (himself an
architect). All rubble-built. Tower house almost square-plan
with splayed low plinth and crenellated high parapet;
curtain parapet similarly treated: original entrance beside
tower house blocked, present entrance at west.
