Ruin. Built pursuant to royal license granted 1491. 4-storey
L-plan, 83' from E. to W., 73' from N. to S. Main part 45'
wide, jamb 36', walls range in thickness from 9' to 11'.
Rubble-built with dressed quoins, dressed stones of all
openings except cross-arrowlets robbed prior to 1839,
formerly had round-arched door at ground floor in main block,
and another at 1st floor in jamb; formerly had circular stair
in re-entrant angle rising above wallhead as circular turret.
