Skipness Castle is a Listed Building. Here's what the official description says about it:

Curtain walls built c1300 (incorporating hallhouse and chapel) C.f.c. 1225. Oblong enclosure with Tower house in N.E. corner.
CURTAIN WALLS: Rubble, parapet walk. Remains of 2-storey buildings on inner sides. Crosslets. Portcullised pointed archway in S. wall; room above. Later round-headed gateway in N. wall.
TOWER at W. wall.
TOWER HOUSE. Oblong with angle tower. 3 storeys, basement, and attic. Capehouses. Corbelled parapet. Slit windows (some enlarged in 16th century). Single chamber in each floor; basement vaulted in 16th century. Forestair (modern). Hall house in NW angle was originally free standing and 3 storey at St. Columbas Chapel at S end was secularised and remodelled c.1300, its place being taken by St. Brendan's Chapel (item 21).
